We love high performance cars and everything that makes them run. A long time passion and dream to someday own a Cobra® has culminated in a business venture to sell the best complete vintage 'replica' models available today, Superformance® is widely respected among car enthusiasts worldwide and is the only component vehicle built under license by Carroll Shelby Licensing, Inc. and we think that speaks volumes.
Wayne has been involved with some form of racing and engine building since he was 16 yrs old. During his early years he raced motorcycles and then cars, he is NHRA licensed in five classes, so the progression into helping build custom cars and engines with his brother, only seemed natural. The Montgomery brothers have been involved in the local racing community for many years, each of them building high performance race cars and engines, competing at the local tracks, etc. Just recently, they completed a long time project, a customized '69 Camaro.
It must be something in the blood when you consider Wayne's two sons are also involved in some form of auto racing or high performance sport. There's a rumor that Wayne's mom might have had something to do with all this interest in fast cars, apparently she still enjoys that 'heavy foot' syndrome, even at her age of 83!
Retiring from his corporate job in July of '06, after nearly 40 yrs with the same company, Wayne and his wife Victoria, who worked for many years in the non-profit sector, decided to pursue a long time shared interest in the Shelby Cobra®. After learning about the Superformance® / Shelby connection, their growing worldwide appeal, the attention to detail, the aesthetic correctness, quality, the engineering and manufacturing of these vintage replicas, they decided to take it even a step further by establishing a Superformance® dealership in their home town. It seems retirement became a bit of a bore rather than something to enjoy. Now this is FUN!
