BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State football team (11-1) has officially accepted an invitation to play in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas XX against Arizona State (6-6) of the Pacific-12 Conference, Dec. 22 (Thursday). Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. (MT) at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN.

The Broncos are ranked Nos. 6 and 8 in the USA Today Coaches and the Associated Press Polls, respectively. Boise State will be making its 10th-straight bowl appearance, tied for the 10th-longest active streak in the country.

The Sun Devils finished the 2011 regular season with an overall record of 6-6, and were tied for third in the Pac-12 South standings at 4-5.

“We are excited about returning to the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas and to again face a tough opponent like Arizona State,” Boise State head coach Chris Petersen said. “We had a great bowl experience last year and I know the hospitality for our team and fans will again be outstanding. This senior class is excited about playing in another bowl and they will work hard in getting the team ready for the game.”

Tickets for the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas are on sale at www.idahotickets.com, and season ticketholders can log on through their season ticket account. For more information about tickets, click here. Those with season tickets are asked to please check their e-mail for more details, as the season ticketholder priority deadline ends Wednesday at 5 p.m.

All tickets for MAACO Bowl Las Vegas are $62, and parking is $10, payable at the gate. RV parking is also $10, and there is no overnight parking available.

In conjunction with the bowl game, there were also be a Bronco Tailgate Party at the stadium put on by the Boise State Alumni Association and the Bronco Athletic Association from 2-4:30 p.m. Tickets are $40, and will include barbeque chicken, baby back ribs and a no-host bar, in addition to performances by the Harvey Neef Mane Line Dancers, Bronco Cheer and the Boise State University band.

The Boise State Athletic Ticket Office is open tonight from 6-9 p.m. The ticket office will also be open from 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday and Tuesday. For more information, please call 426-4737.

Boise State has made 11 postseason bowl appearances all-time, going 7-4 including a 26-3 victory over No. 19 Utah in last year’s MAACO Bowl Las Vegas. The Broncos have also recorded two victories in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl (2007 and 2010), three victories in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl (1999, 2000 and 2002) and one win in the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl (2003).

The Broncos and Sun Devils have previously met just once on the gridiron, with then-No. 5 Arizona State winning 56-7 in Tempe, Ariz., Oct. 5, 1996. Boise State boasts a three-game winning streak over teams from the Pac-12, defeating a ranked Oregon squad in both 2008 (37-32) and 2009 (19-8), and No. 24 Oregon State in 2010 (37-24).

The Broncos have won 11-or-more games during the regular season for four-straight years, and this year’s senior class tied the school record with its 49th victory Saturday against New Mexico. Boise State has won at least 10 games each of the last six seasons, tied for the longest active streak in the country (Virginia Tech).
