NEW YORK CITY, NY. - The unique Pro Combat Uniforms designed by Nike for the 2010 season, have been unveiled to the public.

The University of Alabama, Boise State University, University of Florida, University of Miami (FL), The Ohio State University, Oregon State University, University of Pittsburgh, Texas Christian University, Virginia Tech and West Virginia University will wear the innovative designs for a minimum of one game on their schedules. The dates of those games will be announced at the unveiling of the uniforms Sept. 1 in New York.

The Nike Pro Combat System of Dress uniforms the schools will wear are engineered to provide superior protection and durability, while utilizing advanced fabrics and tooling that reduce weight.

The Boise State University football team received its highest ranking in school history on Saturday (Aug. 21) when the Associated Press selected the Broncos third in its preseason top 25 poll.

The Broncos received 1,336 points and one first place vote. Boise State's lone first place vote came from Joe Giglio of The Times & Observer in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Defending national champion Alabama as expected was in the No. 1 spot with the Crimson Tide receiving 1,491 points and 54 first place votes. Alabama was also the No. 1 selection in the USA Today Coaches' preseason poll.

Ohio State was No. 2 in the AP poll with 1,400 points and three first place votes. The two remaining first place votes went to No. 5 Texas and No. 7 Oklahoma. Florida rounded out the top five at the No. 4 spot with 1,237 points.

Boise State joins Alabama, Ohio State and Texas as the four teams to grace their respective region's cover for this year's college football preview issue. Seniors Ryan Winterswyk (defensive end), Brandyn Thompson (cornerback) and Jeron Johnson (safety) all appear on the cover.

The decision to select the Broncos came on the heels of their No. 3 national ranking by SI to start the 2010 season. Boise State trailed only No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Ohio State in the poll. In the team preview, SI.com staff writer Stewart Mandell writes: "With Boise State coming off its second undefeated season in four years, the college football world can no longer say it doesn't see the Broncos coming".

USA Today released its preseason top 25 this morning with defending national University of Alabama in the No. 1 spot with 55 of 59 first place votes and 1,469 points. No. 2 Ohio State University capturing the other four first place votes and 1,392 points.

The network will telecast approximately 13 college football games this season, concluding with the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game on Monday, January 10 at 8:30 p.m.

On Sept. 11 at 3:40 p.m. defending Big Ten Conference champion No. 3 Ohio State will host No. 19 Miami of the ACC in the first meeting between the perennial powers since the Buckeyes defeated the Hurricanes 31-24 in the 2003 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl to win the 2002 BCS National Championship. BOISE, Idaho (July 23, 2010) - Bob Behler and Pete Cavender will make up the play-by-play broadcast team that will bring Boise State football games to Bronco fans on the radio in 2010, the university and Bronco Sports Properties announced Friday. The new network pre-game show will also feature Behler and Cavender, and include longtime Boise broadcaster Paul J. Schneider. Jeff Caves and Andrew Paul will also serve as hosts on the local pre-game show on KBOI 670 AM.

"Bob and Pete teamed together last year in the broadcast booth. It's great to have them back this year," Boise State Athletics Director Gene Bleymaier said. "Bob is the ultimate professional, while Pete is one of our former players that can take people into the huddle and help break the game down."

Bob Behler will handle the radio play-by-play duties for Boise State football and men's basketball, while Cavender, an offensive guard at Boise State from 2004-2007, will serve as the color analyst for Bronco football games. Behler will also host weekly football and men's basketball coaches' shows during the season, as well as the daily three-minute Bronco radio report that will be heard on all Bronco Sports Network affiliates statewide. He has served as play-by-play "Voice of the Broncos" each of the past two seasons.

Kellen Moore Named Male Student-Athlete of the Year

DENVER, Colo. – Kellen Moore, quarterback for the Boise State University football team, has been named the 2009-10 Western Athletic Conference Joe Kearney Award winner as the outstanding male student-athlete in the WAC.

The award, which is given annually to the top male and female student-athlete in the conference, is named in honor of former WAC Commissioner Joe Kearney who guided the league from 1980-94. Moore becomes just the second Bronco to win the award. Two-time NCAA National Champion javelin thrower Gabriel Wallin also earned the award for the 2004-05 season.

Amber Kaufman, a multi-sport student-athlete at the University of Hawai’i won the award for the women. This past season as a sophomore, Moore guided the Broncos to a perfect 14-0 record, including a victory over TCU in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. He earned first-team All-American honors from ESPN.com, SI.com and CBSSports.com, finished seventh in the voting for the Heisman Trophy and was named the WAC Offensive Player of the Year.

He set the NCAA single-season record for the lowest percentage of passes intercepted at 0.69 percent, throwing just three picks in 431 attempts. On the season he completed 277 of 431 passes for 3,536 yards and 39 touchdowns.

BOISE, Idaho - The 2010 college football season may still be months away, but that hasn't stopped the buzz surrounding Boise State following a perfect 14-0 season in 2009. On Monday (June 21) more national recognition came in for the Broncos as Boise State received another top-five preseason ranking while two players were also named to prestigious individual award watch lists.

Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook announced its preseason top-25 rankings this week, which features Boise State as the No. 3 overall team heading into the fall. The only teams earning higher rankings than the Broncos were Ohio State (No. 1) and Alabama (No. 2). Blue Ribbon also honored Boise State junior quarterback Kellen Moore by selecting him as one of five players to be featured on the publication cover. Moore was joined by Mark Ingram (Alabama, RB), Ryan Mallett (Arkansas, QB), Case Keenum (Houston, QB) and Terrelle Pryor (Ohio State, QB).

The Blue Ribbon poll is the sixth since the end of the 2009 season that is projecting Boise State to open next season in the top-five. The Broncos were also ranked No. 2 by Sports Illustrated and Lindy's Football Preview, No. 3 by SportingNews and ESPN College Football Live, and No. 4 by Athlon Sports.
