<p><strong>SANT'AGATA BOLOGNESE, Italy</strong> &mdash; The global economic   downturn hit luxury-car makers especially hard in 2009 &mdash; and no company   more than Volkswagen's Automobili Lamborghini unit, which said  worldwide  vehicle deliveries plummeted 38 percent, triggering a 41  percent  decline in revenue.</p>
<p>Unit sales dropped from a record 2,430 cars in 2008 to 1,515 in 2009.   Revenues fell from $654 million in 2008 to $384 million in 2009. The   company posted a net loss last year of $48 million, compared with a   record pretax profit of $79 million the previous  year.</p>

<p><strong>AFFALTERBACH, Germany</strong> &mdash; Mercedes-Benz will introduce  a new version of the S63  AMG this summer, powered by AMG's new twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter  V8. The new engine was showcased last week in a preproduction version of  the new S63 AMG.</p>
<p>The biturbo 5.5 replaces the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 in the  current 2010 S63 AMG, which delivers 518 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque.</p>

The legendary British car maker will be offering a custom vehicle  program to those with the right mixture of imagination and American  Express Black Card. According to the article, Aston Martin has gained so  much experience building the One-77 as a stationary object (as opposed to on an assembly line) that  building whatever it is on earth a customer wants is no problem.</p>

<p><strong>MARANELLO, Italy</strong> &mdash; One of the emotional high points  of this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix will be the return to action of  Felipe Massa, the Ferrari Formula 1 driver who missed out on the second  half of last season after a near  death experience during qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix.</p>
<p>The Bahrain Grand Prix, which features a new lengthened track layout,  marks the start of the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship and the 60th  anniversary of Formula 1.</p>
